Altough I want a more comprehensive review of this one of a kind comicbook/graphic novel, I am posting one now in order to announce this good news to comicbook fans of mature inclinations.
I forward the unsolicited advice that first time readers start with this rather than the collected version because 'Watchmen' is not the typical one sitting, browse through kind of comicbook. Besides the collected version is quite bulky; one does not want to transform his at least 800 peso worth graphic novel (the cheapest that I know of is from Bestsellers also in Galleria) into a dog-torn-waste-paper-basket-case in no time.
The story is rich in many levels. Unlike the 'Bone' series, no pages are wasted. The artwork, though at times childish in appearance, is of a color hue that shames 'V for Vendetta' and even the new 'Shazam' series. Although, there are no mind boggling action sequences and therefore no comic bubbles that proclaim their corresponding sounds, the conflict is intruiging enough to sustain one's interest until the very end. At the same time it makes one impatient that he is holding a complicated work rather than a comics for children. It is so hard to resist the temptation not to take a peek at the ending. The resolution is satisfaction guaranteed.
I can't wait to see the film adaptation.
